The Survivor’s Guide to HSC Group Performance
Drama Workshop
Delivered by the devised theatre experts at Shopfront Arts Co-op, this practical workshop introduces Year 11 and 12 students to the foundations of theatre-making, embedding collaborative and devised practices they can draw on throughout their HSC Group Performance.
Through fast-paced, hands-on exercises inspired by the new prescribed practitioners, students get on the floor: drafting, investigating, editing and remaking.
Students will learn to:
- Generate ideas quickly
- Build strong sequences
- Get unstuck in the valleys of the creative process
- Make bold theatrical choices
- Collaborate as an ensemble
Students leave with greater confidence, creativity and momentum to take into the devising room.
Total students per session: 60 split over two spaces (multiple small school groups allowed).

Each workshop is 180 minutes long and led by experienced Teaching Artists. Please advise students are to wear comfortable clothes that they can move in e.g. sports uniforms.
