Led by expert Shopfront Workshop Facilitators, primary schools can choose from two workshop experiences:
WORKSHOP 1: Making, Performing and Appreciating Drama
Aligned with the NSW Drama curriculum, this practical workshop introduces students to the building blocks of drama through making, performing and appreciating. Students explore character, voice, movement and storytelling, building the skills and language to create their own performance and discuss how theatre communicates ideas and meaning. The collaboration and performance builds students’ confidence, awakens their creativity and ignites a love of making theatre together.
WORKSHOP 2: Stories Alive! Literacy Through Drama
Take a book off the page and put it on its feet. Designed around a text nominated by the teacher, this workshop uses drama to deepen students’ understanding of character, relationships, themes and meaning.
This theatrical immersion allows students to actively explore the world of the text while strengthening literacy, imagination, communication, empathy and collaboration.

Their programs are designed to enrich learning, inspire creativity and provide meaningful engagement with contemporary performance and artists.
Shopfront Arts Co-op is much more than a youth arts organisation—it is a vibrant, youth-led creative community where young people are encouraged to show up as they are and be heard. For 50 years, Shopfront has championed the voices, stories, and lived experiences of diverse young people. From first-time participants to emerging artists at the beginning of their careers, every young person is placed at the centre of the creative process.

Schools with an ICSEA value below 1000, as listed on the My School website at the time of booking, may be eligible for subsidised tickets to this event.
