The Daisy Theatre

13 - 26 Jan

“Funny, touching, and pure genius”

Edmonton Sun

Acclaimed Canadian puppeteer Ronnie Burkett’s marionettes captivate with vivid, bawdy humanity. Featuring a rotating cast of 40 beautifully expressive characters, all manipulated and voiced by Burkett, The Daisy Theatre’s structure changes every night with improvised satire about the news of the day.

From the anxieties of ventriloquist dummy Woody Linden to widowed Edna Turnip making dill dough (say it fast), this is a naughty, poignant and political performance.

A puppet revue for grown-ups, The Daisy Theatre reflects the state of the world and the pain, beauty, joy and absurdity of life. In the hands of cult puppet master Burkett, this stringed ensemble comes hilariously alive.

“One of the more excellent shows you’ll see…maybe ever” The Calgary Herald
