Story in Action: Drama Workshops for Stages 2 and 3
Seymour is proud to partner with Shopfront Arts Co-op to offer free, immersive drama workshops for local schools.
These bespoke, hands-on sessions bring classroom texts to life. Led by expert Shopfront Teaching Artists, teachers can choose the focus of each workshop to support what their students are already studying while aligning with key areas of the NSW Drama curriculum.
WORKSHOP 1
Making, Performing and Appreciating for Stages 2 and 3
Aligned with the NSW Drama curriculum, these workshops introduce students to the foundations of drama. Students explore character, voice and movement while developing the language and skills to discuss how drama communicates ideas and meaning. They'll find the confidence, creativity and joy that comes from making and sharing stories together.
WORKSHOP 2
Story In Action: Literacy Through Drama for Stages 2 and 3
Designed around a teacher’s nominated text, these workshops bring it to life and deepen students’ understanding through performance, discussion and creative inquiry. Students explore character, themes and dramatic meaning while developing skills in imagination, communication, confidence, empathy and teamwork.
More than just drama, these workshops are an opportunity for students to connect, build confidence, and experience the joy of theatre and storytelling.
