“Hamasyan and his collaborators travel musical expanses marked by heavy grooves, ethereal voices, pristine piano playing and ancient melodies. You’ll hear nothing else like this …” — NPR Music
Internationally acclaimed Armenian pianist and composer Tigran Hamasyan returns to Australia with his new work, Manifeste—a riveting live experience from one of the most original voices in contemporary music. Blending jazz improvisation, progressive rock, electronics and Armenian folk traditions, Hamasyan creates a sound is entirely his own.
Hailed as “one of the most remarkable and distinctive jazz-meets-rock pianists of his generation”, his music moves from meditative to explosive, weaving intricate rhythms and ancient melodies into a bold, modern aesthetic. The result is both ancient and futuristic—rich with storytelling, raw emotion and technical brilliance.
Praised by Herbie Hancock, Brad Mehldau, and Chick Corea, Hamasyan has earned global acclaim, including top prizes at the Montreux Jazz Festival (2003) and Thelonious Monk Competition (2005), alongside major international awards.
With Manifeste, Hamasyan redefines contemporary piano performance—fearless, boundary-pushing and utterly unforgettable.
