Seymour Centre and Little Eggs Collective present

Introduction to Devising Theatre for HSC Group Performance

6 - 9 Feb 2023

Past Event

Seymour Centre welcomes experienced workshop facilitators, Little Eggs, to our Arts Education Program for one week of intensive workshops, designed as a structured introduction to the devising process for the HSC group performance.

Students will cover four key areas: operating as an ensemble, celebrating your skill-set and embracing improvisation, making meaning using the elements of drama, and forming a structure (using the "big six" as a basic structure).

The workshop will end with a miniature group devising activity using exercises from the day, followed by a showing, discussion, and question time.

These three-hour workshops will take place during the annual OnSTAGE/Callback season at the Seymour.

You can find out more about Little Eggs here.

"A real highlight was allowing my students to see how collaboration in a real ensemble company works… My students were energised, felt safe enough to take risks, and learned so much from their experience with Little Eggs... Loved it and couldn't recommend Little Eggs highly enough."
Ms Ellen Osborne, Gymea Technology High School
