Vocal Eclipse of the Heart is BarberSoc’s final showcase for 2018. Our three choirs, The Accidentals, Duly Noted, and Pitch Please are all made up of students from the University of Sydney, and they’re all here to sing silly love songs for you!
Our musical tastes range far and wide over the spectrum of popular and contemporary music, traditional barbershop arrangements, and choral classics, the only thing they all have in common is we are going to be singing them all by ourselves! No accompaniment!
The Accidentals are BarberSoc’s mixed vocal range group and also our largest group, led by choir director Jeremy Kindl. The Accidentals will be performing, amongst other numbers, The Hymn of Acxiom, and original arrangements of Justin Timberlake’s Mirrors and that classic pure love song Stacy’s Mom by Fountains of Wayne.
Pitch Please is BarberSoc’s treble group for sopranos and altos, led by choir director Rebecca O’Hanlon. Their performances will include Fields of Gold, and (They Long to Be) Close to You, and a soulful arrangement of God Only Knows by The Beach Boys.
Duly Noted is our tenor and bass choir, led by choir director Tristan Yellachich. Duly Noted will be singing some classic arrangements including Isn’t She Lovely, and Cheerleader, as well as a fantastic arrangement of I Want It That Way by The Backstreet Boys.
