A musical journey through astronomical phenomena. Pulsars, craters, planetary atmospheres, stars, sun and void. Free flowing jazz set to real space sounds written and performed by Keyna Wilkins (piano/flute) with Elsen Price (double bass and loop pedal) and Damian de Boos Smith (cello/guitar). Doors: 7.30pm. Show: 8pm.
Using NASA recordings of electromagnetic waves, the show’s backdrop soundtrack was constructed by astrophysicist Professor Paul Francis with visual projection using original space probe footage. Each member brings their own unique voice to the ensemble drawing from a multitude of musical backgrounds. Elsen is a new music specialist, Damian is a versatile world musician and film/TV composer and Keyna is a jazz/classical/flamenco musician and published composer, who combine to create a distinctive sound world merging and organically reacting to space concepts. Universe and Universality.
