Learn more about this critically acclaimed production in an interview from Artistic Director and performer Dan Daw.

Following a sell-out run of Beast at Sydney Festival in 2018, Dan Daw Creative Projects returns to Sydney to bring you the highly anticipated Australian premiere of their critically acclaimed show, The Dan Daw Show.

The Dan Daw Show is a peep into the shiny and sweaty push-pull of living with shame, whilst bursting with pride. After having spent a lifetime being an inspiration to others, Dan is finally seizing the moment to inspire himself. Owning the beautiful mess that encompasses all that he is, Dan lets go of who he once was to make room for who he wants to be.

Directed by Mark Maughan (The Claim, Petrification), Dan is joined in an intimate evening of play by performer and collaborator Christopher Owen (Joe Moran, Scottish Dance Theatre), where Dan takes back the power by being dominated on his own terms.

Nominated for the 2021 Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards and named as one of the top five dance shows of 2022 by The Guardian UK, The Dan Daw Show is a story of care, intimacy and resilience, letting go, and reclaiming yourself.

Book your tickets to The Dan Daw Show today.

This event is co-produced by Sadler’s Wells and supported by the NSW Government, British Council and Pride Foundation Australia.

★★★★ "Daw’s show is unlike anything else you are likely to see.”
The Guardian UK
"Dan Daw’s confrontational examination of bodies, power and submission has stayed with me... as much for its tenderness and courage as for the sheer inventiveness of the movement."

All performances of The Dan Daw Show are captioned. All are relaxed performances, meaning audiences are welcome to move around, come and go, make noise, stim and tic as they need.

Every performance is preceded by a pre-show access session. From one hour before the performance, for 30 minutes, one of the team can bring audience members into the performance space.

We can demonstrate where captions for the show will be displayed and our trigger warning symbol for light and sound intensity. Audience members can explore the set, props and stage in whatever way they prefer.

It is an opportunity for people to see where they will be seated, the entrances and exits to the performance space, and routes to the Quiet Room and toilet facilities.

If it is of benefit, there is a priority boarding system. This means that some audience members can enter before everyone else.
