Welcome to Arts Education for K–6
Think More | Feel More | Learn More
Our 2026 Primary Arts Education Program makes arts education an accessible part of students' primary school experiences by incorporating a diverse range of theatre, music and interactive events.
With strong alignment to the NSW curriculum for English, Creative Arts and HSIE, our performances and workshops ensure that students from Early Stage 1 to Stage 3 achieve targeted learning outcomes while thoroughly enjoying themselves at the same time.
In May we have Junkyard Beats presenting a new musical work, The Box Show. Drawing inspiration from everyday life, this rhythmic event is energetic and captivating, with sustainability and creative recycling at its core messaging. Follow along as an abandoned kitchen becomes the greatest drum set in the world, pipes from a plumber’s van produce eerie melodies, and plastic bags become an amazing musical instrument!
June welcomes back Sport for Jove to the York stage for The World of Will, a workshop specially designed as an introduction to the wonderful world of Shakespeare for years 5–6. Each session is led by experienced Teaching Artists and offers an immersive, engaging and fun educational journey through Shakespeare's remarkable works and iconic characters.
September brings The Bugalugs Bum Thief to Sydney. Each performance takes students on a whimsical journey through the imaginative world created by Australian author Tim Winton. With engaging storytelling and vibrant characters, The Bugalugs Bum Thief sparks imagination, fosters a love for reading, and promotes important values such as empathy and teamwork. 'It is bum-believable fun' (What's The Show) for the whole class!
October sees our final primary school performance for the year, with Where is the Green Sheep? Blending puppetry and animation, this beautiful production based on the beloved children’s book by Mem Fox and Judy Horacek, invites years K–2 to join in on their quest to find the elusive green sheep! Co-created with students from Bankstown West Public School, Monkey Baa's engaging production integrates young voices as narrators, ensuring the work resonates deeply with students.
This program is open to Schools and the General Public, subject to availability. For specific show details and availability, scroll down to explore the program and book your students in today!
