Costume Designer, The Turn of The Screw

Angela Doherty is a Sydney-based designer, textile artist, and Design for Performance BFA graduate at the National Institute of Dramatic Art.

Driven by an interest in people and emotion, Angela’s work is often cerebral and abstract, and always true to character and text.

 

Recent theatrical design credits include: 

  • Machinal (dir. Carissa Licciardello) as part of NIDA’s 2022 October Production Season, 
  • Iphigenia in Splott (dir. Lucy Clements) at Flight Path Theatre 
  • Girlfriend (dir. Claudia Barrie) at Belvoir 25a


Her textile art and costume-making work have led to her work for projects at Opera Australia and Belvoir. She has also worked in the film and television industry, including on feature films such as Thor: Love and Thunder and Mad Max: Furiosa.
