Edgar Wright will appear live from New York for a virtual in-conversation.
SXSW Sydney audiences will be among the first in the world to experience exclusive footage from The Running Man, Edgar Wright’s upcoming adaptation of the dystopian action thriller based on the novel by Stephen King. The film will be released in cinemas on November 13 through Paramount Pictures.

Set in a near-future society where a deadly game show dominates the airwaves, The Running Man follows working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell), who volunteers for the televised competition in a desperate bid to save his sick daughter. As he’s hunted by professional assassins for the entertainment of a bloodthirsty public, his defiance and instinct make him both a hero and a threat to the system.

Following the first look, acclaimed filmmaker Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Last Night in Soho) will join a live in-conversation, beaming in remotely, moderated by Australian director Nash Edgerton (Gringo, Mr Inbetween).

Starring Glen Powell and Josh Brolin, The Running Man is directed by Edgar Wright, written by Wright and Michael Bacall, and produced by Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, Nira Park, and Wright.
