From Our Friends
Back in Sydney by popular demand, Trophy Boys lands at Carriageworks from 23 July - 3 August. Winner of Best New Australian Work, this hilariously witty satire takes aim at the insecurities surrounding adolescent masculinity and entitlement.
Performed by a female and non-binary cast in drag, the boys find themselves confined to a classroom for their one-hour debate preparation. The challenge? To argue “feminism has failed women.”

Griffin Theatre Company present their upcoming production of Iolanthe’s SISTREN, playing from 26 June - 12 July.
Isla and Violet are a ‘lethal combination’. Their self-righteous headmaster thinks that’s an insult. They think it’s a cute name for a girl group.
The blazingly talented performer Iolanthe (seven methods of killing Kylie Jenner) makes her playwriting debut, sharing the stage with her IRL bestie, the extra-ordinary Janet Anderson (Overflow). The lines of fiction and friendship intertwine in this transcendent study of sisterhood across class, cultural and interdimensional boundaries.
This SIMA and The Vanguard collaboration, 'In Residence' showcases Sydney's distinctive musical voices through month long residencies. Across weekly shows, audiences are invited to witness the construction, development and refinement of a musical conversation between a variety of our city's most iconoclastic artists.
