A Midsummer Night’s Dream

By William Shakespeare

5 Jun - 9 Aug 2019

“This Dream is sheer joy. Plenty to appeal to a broad audience and a great way to introduce children to the Bard – young members of the audience were laughing as much as the adults.”

Daily Telegraph

Accessible, honest, funny, moving, magical and full of invention, Sport For Jove’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream unlocks the deeper ideas that make this one of Shakespeare’s most sophisticated plays.

In the heat of the shortest night of the year, young lovers and work-a-day dreamers plunge into a world between sleep and waking, where “everything seems double”. One of Shakespeare’s truly essential works, ‘Dream’ warns us that family, love and friendship are fragile.

With an eye to originality and freshness, along with great faith to the text, this beautiful production will surprise and delight in equal measure.
