Danica Lani empowers LGBTQIA+ people to break free from constraints around gender, sexuality, and performance so they can be 100% at home in their own skin.
A choreographer, performing artist, and community builder known as The King Coach, Danica specialises in working with adults who have no formal dance background—activating movement and performance in people who once believed they had two left feet. Her accessible, joy-filled approach has brought to life flashmobs at conferences, art exhibitions, not-for-profit campaigns, marriage proposals, and first dances—including an 80-person flashmob at a major international conference in California.
Through her Kings of Joy programs, s/he has choreographed 144 first-time Drag Kings, including award-winning performers like Jim Junkie (King of Kings 2021). Danica’s viral #dancebreak videos have been viewed over 11.8 million times worldwide.
S/he holds a BA in Dance from Deakin University (Rusden).
