Welcome to Seymour’s curated programs for 2018.

As you’ll discover, these programs are driven by our vision to encourage audiences and artists to Think More: Feel More.

We achieve this by presenting large-scale performances from Australian and international artists that link great art-making with the exploration of big, complex ideas, and by producing provocative, high-quality works from small and independent theatre companies in our intimate Reginald Theatre.

Both of these program streams will deliver outstanding productions and aligned events throughout 2018.

Our major performance is the return to the Seymour of one the world’s great theatre companies, Complicité. A Pacifists Guide to the War on Cancer brings great artistry to one of the scariest words we know, blowing everything you think you know about cancer out of the water (with songs).

In the Reg, don’t miss Chris Urch’s hit show from the UK, The Rolling Stone, in its Australian premiere – a deeply affecting and timely work about the immense difficulties gay people face in Uganda.

Plus, to mark 10 years since the Apology to the Stolen Generations, we bring back to Sydney two significant works by Indigenous artists, The Season and Which Way Home as part of a public discussion about how far Australia has come since that significant day, a decade ago.

Keep up to date with Q and A’s and events as they are announced. Check out the complete season listing.

I look forward to seeing you at the Seymour in 2018.
