Tonal Recall is BarberSoc’s first showcase for 2018. Their three choirs, The Accidentals, Duly Noted, and Pitch Please are all made up of students from the University of Sydney.
BarberSoc’s musical tastes range far and wide over the spectrum of popular and contemporary music, traditional barbershop arrangements, and choral classics; the only thing they all have in common is that BarberSoc is going to be singing them all by themselves! No accompaniment!
The Accidentals are BarberSoc’s mixed vocal range group and also our largest group, led by choir director Jeremy Kindl. The Accidentals will be performing, amongst other numbers, Kiss From A Rose, Short People, and an original arrangement by Jeremy of the absolute classic Rasputin by Boney M.
Pitch Please is BarberSoc’s treble group for sopranos and altos, led by choir director Rebecca O’Hanlon. Their performances will include Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Party in the USA, and a soulful arrangement of Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know.
Duly Noted are BarberSoc’s tenor and bass choir, led by choir director Jasper Rasmussen. Duly Noted will be singing some classic arrangements including Stand By Me, and And So It Goes, as well as a specially commissioned arrangement of TLC’s No Scrubs.
