Seymour Centre and Treehouse Theatre present

Suitcase Stories 2017

9 - 10 Nov 2017

“I was so powerfully moved by your production…The portrayal of the personal stories and journeys of our young and brilliant students was truly inspiring!”

Stephanie Lyons, Drama Teacher, Liverpool Girls HS

In Suitcase Stories witness 30 stories of the refugee experience; powerful fusions of spoken word, movement, sound, light and projected imagery. Experience first-hand stories direct from the young people who lived them. Originally from places you hear about on the news, these students now attend Evans High School and Intensive English Centre. In Suitcase Stories they share with you their true life stories of triumph, heartbreak and survival. You will laugh, you will cry and you will begin to understand.

The show assists non-refugee students to better appreciate the lives of their refugee classmates who are struggling with current resettlement issues and past trauma. Refugee students in the audience feel acknowledged and recognised.
