The Musical

19 June - 12 July

"Merry mayhem...Malicious, delicious and a total joy."

New York Observer

Ruthless! is an all female, Off-Broadway hit musical that twists housewives into movie stars, grandmothers into grand dames and children into sociopaths. All in fabulous fun, of course.

“But it’s there…in my blood! Talent! Drive! A pathological need to be famous! Oh, my God, I feel so cheap and dirty. How did this happen?”

Starring Katrina Retallick, Meredith O’Reilly, Margi de Ferranti, Caitlin Berry and musical theatre icon Geraldine Turner as Broadway theatre critic Lita Encore.

The Sydney premiere of this hilarious musical, inspired by classic Broadway shows like Gypsy and Mame and movies such as The Women, The Bad Seed and All About Eve, sees talented, ruthlessly ambitious eight year old Tina Denmark going to any length to secure the lead role of Pippi Longstocking in the school musical. Tina’s ambition soon puts her competition in grave danger, propelling this dark comedy into ever darker and funnier places.

Winner of the New York Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical, Ruthless! is a razor sharp send-up of the entertainment business, full of witty one-liners, bright, brassy show tunes and ingenious plot twists.

“So many lessons that I should’ve taught her, like, for example, to not kill her friends.”
