The Metropolitan Orchestra presents

MET5 Musical Landscapes

12 Dec 2020

World premiere by winner of TMO Emerging Composer Competition
Westlake Antarctica Suite for Guitar and Orchestra
Beethoven Symphony No. 6

The Metropolitan Orchestra is proud of its commitment to championing emerging Australian talent and this evening’s program will open with a brand new work written by the winner of TMO’s 2020 Emerging Composer Competition.

Guitarist Giuseppe Zangari joins Chief Conductor Sarah-Grace Williams and TMO for Nigel Westlake’s illustrative Antarctica Suite for Guitar and Orchestra before TMO celebrates the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, and the final Met Concert for 2020, with Beethoven’s magnificently picturesque Sixth Symphony, which is also known as the Pastoral Symphony.

This will prove to be a magnificent finale to a triumphant year of music making at the Seymour Centre.
