The 2013 Sydney Fringe Festival Garden Bar “Emerald City” is hosted at the Seymour Centre in our spacious Courtyard.

Located at the entrance to the heart of the Fringe precincts, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights there will be live music, comedy and cabaret showcase performances alongside dazzling visual art installations and our very own Festival Bar.

You’re sure to find something to pique your curiosity.

Thursday nights: Hosted by Radio 2SER - 12, 19 & 26 September


Thursday 12 September: History of Hip Hop

DJ Frenzie and crew will step back in the ring for bout three, circling the birth of modern turntablism in NYC, to the freshest beats ‘n’ rhymes.


Thursday 19 September: History of Funk ‘n’ Soul

From Motown to getting’ down, Stax to the big paybacks, 2SER DJs will dig through the crates for the History Of Funk ‘n’ Soul, serving up the best of the last six decades for your dancing pleasure.


Thursday 26 September: History of Rhythm

The rhythm began in Africa, but its echoes can be heard around the world. Whether it’s highlife or Nigerian boogie, Afro-Caribbean or Brazilian beats, 2SER’s History Of Rhythm heads Out Of Africa to trace the drum’s diaspora from Afrobeat to the latest Afro-tech and future Afro-house.

Friday Fringe Tease - 6, 13 & 20 September

Featuring surprise acts from throughout the 2013 Fringe Festival; theatre, cabaret comedy, music, magic and more! Expect the unexpected each Friday with our Fringe Teasers: preview and encore performances from some from the Fringe’s finest.

Followed by Beat Showdown with D&D (HAHA) from 9pm. D&D are Sydney DJs Dean Dixon and Dave Fernandes of HAHA Industries. Two guys with a heavy fetish for slinging vinyl and they usually come armed with a rotary mixer in hand. Their music policy is simple – to play music that will make you dance

Saturday Nights: Sydney Fringe Presents Cowboys in Emerald City - 7, 21 & 28 September

Following the success of last year’s Cowboys in the Amazon, Cowboy Jack returns bigger and better in a 3-part adventure chronicled by some of Sydney’s finest Folk, Alt-Country and Bluegrass acts including Fanny Lumsden & The Thrillseekers, Boy Outside, The Green Mohair Suits, Lily So and The Bellows, All Our Exes Live in Texas, Achoo! Bless You and The Steamgrass Boys.
