On Sunday afternoon, November 10, Julia Gillard, Australia’s first female Prime Minister, will give a keynote address in Melbourne, on what was achieved at the highest political office in the nation, despite the odds of working with a minority government. With only one woman in the 19-member cabinet of the Abbott Government, it is time to acknowledge the achievements of the Gillard Government as they lay a foundation for women participating in leadership roles in the future. Also speaking are retired independent federal MP, the Hon Tony Windsor and Victorian Women’s Trust Executive Director Mary Crooks AO (author of ‘Credit Where Credit is Due’, a national newspaper advertorial). As a real treat a 250-strong women’s choir will perform the inspiring Women’s Anthem ‘Love and Justice’.
Sponsored by the Victorian Women’s Trust at the Melbourne Town Hall from 1.30 to 4 pm, this event will be a live streaming of the event.
Tickets for the Melbourne Town Hall event sold out in 5 hours, so book now to share in the Sydney experience of this historic occasion!
